Welcome!

There is an old adage that goes like this; “There’s no school like the old school.” That is what this blog is all about. Please come alongside as we explore what biblical Christianity was to those who have trod the “ancient paths” before us and learn what they found. Let us search the Scriptures to see if what they found is true and find the application for our lives today.

It is my desire that through devotional thoughts, commentary, and sound biblical exegesis that we will discover as they did “where the good way is.” Thank you for taking the time to read and share in this endeavor!

For His Crown, Glory and Covenant,
Elder Dale

    Brother Dale,
I am finally getting around to reading on your blog site.
First of all let me say that you have in my opinion a firm grasp on the important things:
    1) repentance – many are interested in what God will do for them, but few come to Him really seeking a pardon and restored relationship (Luke 13:23-24 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them,
Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.)
    2) True repentance and belief will be demonstrated by a life of obedience (book of James and many other NT references).
    3) The Bible is not written with me or us as the main emphasis, but rather it is about God and who he is and what he deserves. (Ps 119:11Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You
John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Our preaching at CCC (where Mary and I attend)for 2011 will use the book of Romans for Sunday mornings. We are also studying James on Thursday nights with our men/ladies groups. How refreshing to read the postings that you have included in light of these two books that focus on the same things that I mentioned above!
    In Christ, Dave
